In the old days named Seyr : City in the Sun according
to a Phoenician etymology, it has numerous remnants of medieval
art : ramparts the origin of which goes back to 1164, Clunisian
priory Church Our Lady, Tower of the parish Church Holy cross
erected in the 12th century, etc...
Nowadays , La Charité sur Loire is the
delight of lovers of old books owing to its numerous second-hand
book sellers. White wines (Chardonnay and Sauvignon vine)
and red ones (Pinot noir and Gamay), "Côteaux Charitois" are
produced there, as well... |
